On May 4, 2011, the China Quality Certification Center issued the second revised edition of the "CQC12-465313-2010 Rules for Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification of Power Guide way Systems for Lamps and Lamps". Appendix 3 was added to specify the requirements for safety and EMC certification of LED road/tunnel lighting products and to increase the corresponding production standard GB/T18595-2001.

LED road/tunnel lighting products should not only meet the requirements of all safety and EMC test items for road and street lighting, but also need to comply with the requirements of surge section in GB/T18595-2001 Requirements for EMC Immunity of General Lighting Equipments and be tested in accordance with GB/T17626.5. For the LED road/tunnel lighting products which apply for energy-saving certification, there are some differences between the safety certification and the traditional street lamps. The differences are: marking, dustproof, solid foreign bodies and waterproofing, weight, suitable for work requirements.
 
LED road/tunnel lighting products applying for energy-saving certification shall first pass safety and EMC certification, which shall comply with the following safety and EMC standards/certification rules:
