Toy instruction (EN71)

EN71 Toys CE Certification Directive Toys

In order to ensure the safety of products, safety standards have been established in different regions in order to implement rigorous testing and production process control at different stages of production. Among them, the European standards should be applied to a wide range of applications. Any product to Europe, will inevitably have to go through rigorous testing EN71 standards, for toys is no exception. The most common ones are Torque & Tension, DropTest, ImpactTest, and compressionTest.

Toys The CE Certification Directive applies to any product or material designed for or intended for use by children under the age of 14 and, if energized, can not exceed 24V.

Toys sold in the EU legally must comply with the requirements of the Toys Directive 2009/48 / EC and bear the CE mark. According to the different types of toy products, the division of age groups;

From birth to 18 months

2. From 19 months to 36 months

From birth to 36 months

4.37 months or more

5.60 months and under

From 37 months to 72 months

From 37 months to 96 months

From 96 months to 168 months

Test certification includes the following aspects of the test:

Universal toy-EN71

- EN71Part1PhysicalandMechanicaltest mechanical and physical performance testing

Including drop test, small parts test, sharp edge test, tensile test, stress test, seam test, parts test, ear and nose eye pull, torque test.

1. Torque - pull test (orque & tension)

Torque test required instruments: stopwatch, torque meter, torque clamp (2 kinds, depending on the model selection of suitable tools)

Apply clockwise torque on the part within 5 seconds, twist to 180 degrees or 0.34N-m for 10 seconds

Then bring the unit back to a relaxed state

Repeat the above process counterclockwise

Less than or equal to 6mm, then apply 50N +2 N force

If the maximum protrusion size of the part is greater than 6mm, a force of 90N + 2N is applied.

5 seconds on the pounds, for 10 seconds

2. Drop Test (DropTest)

Instrument installation: EN floor

Test Procedure: Drop the toy five times from the 85cm + 5cm height to the EN floor in the most stringent direction.

Impact test (mpactTest)

Instrument: diameter of 80mm +2 mm, weight 1kg. +0.02 kg. Steel weight

Test Procedure: Place the toy in the most vulnerable position on a flat horizontal steel surface. Use a weight to free-fall the toy once from a height of 100mm + 2mm.

Drive mechanisms that become accessible can not be harmful.

4 pressure test (CompressionTest)

Test steps:

Place the toy on a level, rigid surface with the toy under test above.

A pressure of 110 N + 5 N is applied to the area to be measured through a rigid metal indenter with a diameter of 30 mm + 1.5 mm, and the pressure is maintained for 5 seconds on the weight for 10 seconds.

- EN71Part2Flammalilitytest flammability test

Including flammable materials for combustion testing: hair, clothing and so on.

- EN71Part3Chemicaltest chemical test, which tests the content of eight kinds of toxic elements (8kindsoftoxicelements) whether meets the standard requirements, these eight kinds of toxic elements include:

- EN71Part4usermanual manual

EMC Directive EMC Directive (2004/108 / EC)

For electric toys, including battery-powered toys and toys with AC / DC conversion power. In addition to the toy general standard EN71 test, but also to meet the electromagnetic compatibility-related standards, involving:

EMI (Electromagnetic Radiation): EN55022, EN55014-1, EN61000-3-2 / 3

EMS (Electromagnetic Immunity): EN55014-2, EN50082-1

Electric toy safety test EN50088
This standard includes all electric toys, and also applies to electric construction toys, electric functional toys, or experimental toys but the transformers and chargers that are used with the toys can not be used as toys and must be used Corresponding electrical safety standards.
EN50088 main test includes: signs and instructions, input power, temperature and abnormal operation, electrical strength, mechanical strength, structure, wires, screws and components, creepage distances and clearances, fire, heat. Toxic and similar hazards.

  Wireless Communication Terminal Command Test R & TTE Directive 1999/5 / EC.
If it is a radio remote control toy such as a remote control toy car, a ship, an airplane, a toy walkie talkie, etc. (27MHz / 40MHz / 49MHz / 433MHz / 863MHz / 2.4GHz)

Also required are: RADIO (RF) + EMC + LVD testing.
