Japan revised the scope of certification of round PSE marks for electrical products
 

In July 1, 2011, the Ministry of economy and industry (METI) amended the Japanese Electrical Equipment Safety Act (referred to as "electric safety law") on the scope of the round PSE certification of electrical products, including the following products.
(1)     Round PSE certification of LED lighting equipment:
LED lighting equipment above 1W;
The bulb holder is E type and B type.
(2)      vacuum cleaner:
Product verification from the original rated voltage which is below 1000W that needs to apply for verification and now change to 1500W below.
(3)      lithium batteries of special construction:
Since November 2008, manufacturers have been persuaded to carry out lithium battery certification, and now the two-year buffer period has passed, therefore, lithium batteries are included in the scope of certification, in addition, the lithium battery, which is installed on the machine and is not easy to disassemble, that is not including in this limit.
The renewal act is expected to take effect in July 1, 2012.
