Brazil plug and socket certification-Brazil plug and socket technical standard
From July 1, 2011, the Electrical plugs for sale nationwide in Brazil are all need to use three round plug which conforms to the unified specifications formulated by the Brazil National Technical Standards Institute.
Our technical staff pointed out, use of this type of plug will help prevent electrical short circuit, leakage and other accidents. It is said that there are more than 10 different types of plugs and sockets in Brazil electric appliance market before the implementation of this technology standard, after the implementation of the new technical standards, the risk of electric shock and waste of electric energy will be reduced.
We according to the official requirements of Brazil, do the arrangement is as follows:
Safety standard: ABNT NBR NM 60884-1 (similar to IEC 60884-1)
Additional requirements: INMETRO Decree #85 from April 3rd 2006
Design: only NBR 14136/02 (mandatory since January 2010)
Plugs: pin diameters (4mm and 4.8mm) according to nominal current
Maintenance: every 6 months (factory inspection + partial tests)
