The Following is the compulsory inspection of the certification:
· Component class:
· plug and socket (ABNT NBR NM 60884-1 and NBR 14136)
· Switch fixing device (NBR NM 60669-1)
· circuit breaker (NBR IEC 60947-02 and NBR NM 60898)
· wire and cable (NBR NM 247, NBR 13249 and others)
· Plug and socket adapters (NBR 14936)
· magnetic ballast (NBR 5114 and NBR 5172)
· electron ballast (NBR 14417 and NBR 14418)
· Household appliances:
· water dispenser (NBR 335-1 and IEC 60730-2-8)
· water filters (NBR 14908 and NBR 15176)
· It equipment:
· Voltage stabilizer (NBR 14373)
After July 2011: mandatory certification with all home appliances
The Mandatory list type: IEC 60335-2 - X series
In addition, INMETRO has issued an energy efficiency labeling scheme (PROCEL)

Sector two: the Brazil national telecommunications office has issued special requirements for all telecommunications products in Brazil:

Basic steps:
1. Product classification according to ANATEL requirements=>appropriate testing and process
2. Certification=>Product testing and technical analysis
3. Auditing=>Document verification by ANATEL
4. Maintenance=> Reproducible based on product categories

Sector three: ANVISA (National Bureau of health supervision) describes the requirements and main rules for general medical equipment certification:
Main rules:
Directive 2007 (RDC) 032
· The registration process is defined as mandatory;
· Register basic program;
· This certification is required by the registration process;
· Canonical instruction (IN) 08 in 2009
· The standard applies to mandatory registration procedures on the list;
· The applicable IEC 60601-1 medical instruments shall be in accordance with the INMETRO certification rules.

Sector four: The Institute for Environmental Studies (Brazil Institute of natural resources and environment) issued a noise grade labeling scheme, also call as SELO RUIDO:
Mandatory list:
· Vacuum cleaner;
· mixer;
· Hair dryer.
General character;
Participation by some certification bodies;
Test: test only in Brazil accredited laboratory;
Sample: collect at local dealer in Brazil;
Noise level certificate: issued by the certification authority;
Apply directly to use the Selo Ruido label which is licensed by the Brazil legal representation or the importer at the Institute for environmental research.
