South Africa LOA certification changed to NRCS
SABS EMI COC (EMC) and LOA (Safety) certifications are mandatory for electronic products entering the South African market. SABS regulates both EMC and safety. After the product is certified, it will receive two certificates, EMI COC (EMC) and LOA (Safety).
Xingyuan learned that LOA would be renamed NRCS from September 2009. The NRCS certificate holder is a local agent in South Africa. The EMI COC certificate holder can be an overseas company. Both EMI COC and NRCS allow series model applications. But only one trademark per certificate is allowed.
SABS EMI COC and LOA certification do not have a logo and do not allow the SABS logo to be pasted on the product, otherwise the product will be ordered to stop selling. For manufacturers that require SABS logo to be affixed to the label, the market management department can apply and complete the relevant factory inspection before the product label can be affixed with SABS logo.
