The Korea EK certification
 

EK certification is a type of authentication system of Korean government. It has been replaced by new security certification system, The new certification work is undertaken by several private enterprises. They are KTL, KETI, ESAK, The newly revised electrical safety code, ACT 6019, was promulgated in September 7, 1999. The newly revised electrical safety regulations have been improved in terms of enhancing the safety control of production and electrical appliances; it also makes security standards more international so that countries can recognize each other in the future. The new electrical safety regulations were formally implemented in July 1, 2000.
 
South Korea's product laws are similar to the Europe. The South Korean safety signs are based on South Korean safety regulations. The law was amended in July 1, 2000. There are four main amendments:
1.       South Korea's safety regulations regulate the electronic products into two categories: Mandatory products with EK- signs and non mandatory products with K- signs.
2.       First factory inspection and annual factory inspection, Factories outside Korea are mandatory.
3.       Korea's electronic safety standards are in line with the IEC standards.
4.       Only manufacturers can be the certificate holders.

1.       safety test, CB report, certificate and contains test reports specified in Korea

4. volume label in Korean;
5. Technical documentation of the product;
6. Circuit diagram, parts list, PCB wiring diagram, etc.;
7. Product photos;
8. users guide in Korean; 
9. Basic data for legal agents in South korea;

 
Factory inspection
When the documentation is complete, the first factory inspection will be carried out. The interval between the first factory inspection and the annual factory inspection is determined in accordance with the South Korean safety signs ordinance. Generally speaking, the inspection is done once a year.
 
Test sample
There is no need to provide test samples (but need to hold CB report + National +EMC report).
